We are not a major global organisation, but we take our corporate responsibilities seriously. This means that that we are as conscious of our social and environmental responsibilities as we are of our financial performance. We believe that the one helps to sustain the other. We believe in treating people with respect and decency, not only our staff, but in our engagement with all stakeholders as we carry out our work be they a client, persons in the local community or part or our supply chain.
We also believe in caring for the natural environment in which we work. So we are aware of the impact of our building projects and as a result endeavour to reduce the negative impact of our day-to-day activities through the management of waste and use of natural resources, where possible.
Our approach to the environment, health and safety, quality and our supply chain is set out below.
Environmental
Environmentally, we are committed to minimising the detrimental impact of our work by adopting sustainable practices and continuous improvement in our environmental performance
We are committed to compliance with all environmental legislation and recognise the importance of our role and responsibilities in the protection of the environment in which we work. Our aim is to deliver continuous improvement in working standards, throughout our business, year on year. This means raising and maintaining awareness of environmental issues with our staff and supporting our customers and our supply chain in their commitment to strong environmental principles.
Our core environmental objectives are to: -

Health & Safety
At CPM Design & Build, we are committed to safeguarding the occupational health and safety of all our employees and those under their management or control. We achieve this by providing, so far as is reasonably possible, a working environment that is safe and healthy, which we believe will, in turn, improve company performance still further.
We strive to ensure that health and safety risks are minimised throughout the CPM Design & Build and encourage all staff to develop a positive health and safety culture. We provide all employees at every level of the organisation with adequate resources, information, instruction, ongoing training and direction so they are able to work safely at all times.
Our performance in the area of health and safety is regularly reviewed by our board against the objectives we have set. We aim for continuous improvement and regard compliance with current legislation as the minimum level that should be achieved.
Quality Assurance
Our business is being built on the back of a commitment to quality throughout our company and in every area of every contract we carry out. We understand that the experience of each project we undertake immediately becomes the learning base for the next.
All our employees understand and aspire to a quality led culture, recognising that it is the way to build a sustainable reputation and enjoy continuing success. Our workforce is fully Construction Skills Certification Scheme Accredited and we are proud to have been awarded the Gold Standard Certificate of Achievement from CSCS.
Continuous improvement underpins our aspirations to quality and we endeavour to be quick to recognise our client’s changing requirements and the working practices we employ to meet these new demands. We sum up our quality stance as an objective to provide a level of service and performance that exceeds our client’s expectations and delivers complete satisfaction.
Supply Chain Management
At CPM Design & Build we understand the importance of relationships with other businesses in the supply chain that we establish to complete a project. Our aim is to deliver long term value and cost benefits by maintaining mature and close relationships with our key suppliers. So we endeavour to build partnerships based on experience, skills and capacity that allow us to provide efficient and effective solutions for our clients.
We often use sub contractors when we lead manage construction projects and we have a pool of good, local businesses that meet our standards on quality and safety, so that our clients receive the best possible service. You can register as a potential sub contractor elsewhere on this site.
Nowadays, competitive tendering is not always the best solution for our clients and at CPM Design & Build we are also comfortable within partnering and framework agreements. We believe that this process can benefit all parties through reductions in cost, improved construction times, quality enhancement and a greater feeling of trust and cooperation throughout the process.
